Economic Growth

Building a Prosperous East Haven with a Clear Vision for the Future

Introduction

Strong communities don’t happen by accident. They are built on planning, vision, and smart decision-making. For too long, East Haven has drifted without a clear plan for the future. Our residents deserve a local government that doesn’t just react to problems but lays out a vision for where we want our town to be in 10, 20, and even 50 years.

The Problem

The current administration has no clear outlook or plan for economic growth. Decisions are made piecemeal, with no long-term strategy, leaving East Haven vulnerable to bad deals and missed opportunities. Instead of creating a roadmap for a stronger community, Town Hall is more concerned with keeping their jobs than planning for the future.

  • No clear vision for what type of growth best fits East Haven.

  • No plan to control local zoning and prevent developments like Tweed, that burden residents more than they benefit them.

  • A lack of investment in businesses that create stable tax revenue and good jobs for residents.

Without a guiding vision, our town risks becoming a place shaped by outside interests instead of the needs of our own families.

My Position

I believe East Haven must adopt a clear, long-term vision for growth. A plan that prioritizes stable tax revenue, strong neighborhoods, and opportunities for local families. Growth must bet strategic, not reactive.

MY PLAN

  1. Create a 20-Year Community Vision Plan: Involve residents, businesses, and experts to chart where East Haven should be in 10, 20, and 50 years and set benchmarks to measure progress.

  1. Target High-Value, Low-Burden Businesses: Focus on attracting businesses like medical offices, professional services, mom and pop shops, and clean light industrial that bring in tax revenue without adding traffic, noise, or pollution.

  2. Strengthen Small Businesses: Support East Haven’s local shops and restaurants through streamlined permitting, better promotion, and reduced red tape.

  3. Leverage Town Assets: Reimagine underused properties and vacant storefronts as opportunities for growth that fit the community’s vision.

  4. Balance Growth with Quality of Life: Ensure every development project is measured against how it affects traffic, taxes, and neighborhood character.

Conclusion

East Haven families can’t afford more broken promises and ballooning budgets. As mayor, I’ll protect your paycheck by restoring fiscal discipline, cutting waste, and making government truly accountable to you.East Haven cannot afford leadership without vision. With the right plan, we can lower the tax burden on residents, create real opportunities for local families, and make our town a place where future generations are proud to stay. As mayor, I’ll provide the leadership, planning, and foresight East Haven deserves.
